There is no better way to get to know a country than through its gastronomy. That being said, we have designed this half-day tour for those who don’t have the time to go to the different regions of this wonderful country but want to get to know all of its richness. In order to do this, we will take you to several places where you will be able to taste the different regional food and understand the different meanings, traditions, and lifestyle each region has.
Starting the day as it should be, we will go to Pastelería Florida, a traditional bakery that has been opened for 78 years now, to have an amazing breakfast. Here you will taste a traditional breakfast of the Andean region accompanied by a delicious hot beverage called aguapanela.
After a delicious breakfast, we will take you toward the city center into the Septimazo, a commonly known place for diversity. This place has become a type of street fair where you will find all type of things, street artists, singers, food karts, handicrafts, and nearly everything. We will walk through the streets that have witnessed how the city has grown around it, its history, every single event and the lives of its citizens. On the way we will make some stops for you to try various food stalls to amaze your palate.
Then we’ll go to Paloquemao one of the biggest and oldest food markets in the capital, where you will find all of Colombia’s agricultural diversity and its richness. You will also see meat, fish, handicraft products and an extremely gorgeous flower market. Even though it’s not the typical touristic destination, you will surely love it for its lively atmosphere.
There is a saying that says: “the way to a man’s heart, is through his stomach” and we have no doubt that after this tour will deeply fall in love with Colombia and want more of it.View more +View less -
