Day 1: Local Culture
Upon your arrival in San Agustín, take some time to explore the charming town at your leisure. Stroll through the streets adorned with colorful murals and visit the local craft shops, where you can find unique handmade treasures. Be sure to stop by the central park and the intricately detailed wooden church. Enjoy the afternoon soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of this quaint Colombian town.
Day 2: Archaeology and Nature
At 8:30 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel for a guided tour of the San Agustín Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995. Embark on a fascinating journey through the ancient past as we explore archaeological wonders such as the Mesitas A, B, C, Fuente del Lavapatas, Alto del Lavapatas, Bosque de las Estatuas, and the Museum. Led by a knowledgeable guide, you'll walk amidst the mystical ruins, marveling at the remnants of pre-Columbian culture that once thrived in the Alto Magdalena region. This approximately 4 to 5-hour tour offers a low level of difficulty, suitable for all ages.
In the afternoon, we'll take you to a coffee farm with specialty micro-lots, where you'll discover the art of coffee production from seed to cup. Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and aromas of coffee cultivation, and indulge in the sensory experience of tasting some of the finest specialty coffees.
Day 3: Southern Tour
Kick off the day at 8:30 am with a scenic tour of the southern attractions, including the Estrecho del río Magdalena, Museo de Obando, Parque Arqueológico Alto de los Ìdolos, and Salto del Mortiño. Spend approximately 7 to 8 hours exploring these natural and archaeological wonders, marveling at the majestic landscapes and ancient relics that dot the southern region of San Agustín. Enjoy an immersive journey through history and nature before concluding your adventure in this captivating destination.
