Fantastic First Day in Bogota with Knowledgeable Guide Gigio

It was our first day and first time in Bogota. My friends and I (seven of us, all in our seventies) wanted to explore Bogota before setting off on a birding trip to the Central and Western Andes. Gigio Arango-Perez showed up at our hotel in a timely manner with a driver and comfortable van. We had a fantastic day! Gigio is very personable, speaks excellent English, and really knows and loves his city and country. His knowledge of the history of Bogota and Colombia is impressive. It happened to be an Independence Day holiday that day, and Gigio showed us so many of the city's highlights. He chose a restaurant for our lunch that catered to the dietary needs of all of us, and helped us get acquainted with a Colombian menu. He was cognizant of the mobility needs of the members of our group, and made choices for our comfort. It so happened that Gigio also loves nature and birding, so that was a fun connection. The communication from the company to arrange this tour was easy and professional. I would highly recommend Gigio as a guide around Bogota.

We had a wonderful time on our tour in Bogota! My only regret is not being able to stay longer. From the scenic mountain tops, live music, art, food, and coffee, Bogota is truly an incredible experience. Our guide, Gigio was absolutely the best part! His enthusiasm, knowledge and love for the city truly shined and encouraged us to want to come back. I highly recommend this tour, especially using Gigio as your guide.

We had a fantastic time in Colombia for 3 weeks. We have 3 kids ages 5-13 and all the activities/ trips we did were interesting for all ages. I feel we experienced a side of Colombia that would have been difficult to find on our own. Everything was very well organised and planned. The people we met along the way were nice, helpful and knowledgable (drivers/tour guides/ etc.). And all the accommodation and places we stayed were super. The Impulse team were at hand when we needed them and helpful when one of our children became ill. Thank you Felipe and team for everything - we had a once in a life time trip and will remember it forever!

Our guide Gigio was super communicative and informed. I am a little out of shape and he was so thoughtful with how he paced everything. My teens were so curious about Colombian history we all learned a lot from him and were able to really appreciate what we were experiencing both at monserrate and the gold museum. We were lucky enough to have him as a guide for the salt cathedral earlier in our trip. He was amazing and really contributed to the quality of our trip!

We were lucky enough to be alone with the guide Mauricio. He was the first guide who actually spoke English considering our other bookings in Colombia. There was prompt communication from Impulse the tour company. We took many photos indeed. Mauricio took great care of us, pointed out all points of interest, a vast knowledge of the local flora and fauna and navigated us both through history and affordable shops and cafes.
