Description

Bogotá City Tour is the most comprehensive way to see the relevant sights of the city in one day. You will be guided by a knowledgeable guide who will teach you about historical and current facts of Colombia.

The first stop will be a visit through the picturesque cobbled streets of La Candelaria. You will visit the Botero Museum, which features works of the eccentric artist who has become an icon of Colombian contemporary art, Fernando Botero. You will have a stop at Chorro de Quevedo to appreciate the diverse contrasts that the historical center offers and learn more about Bogotá's history.

After the walking tour in La Candelaria, you will reach Plaza de Bolívar; The main square of the city. The square is surrounded by administrative and governmental buildings that have been fundamental to the historical processes of the country that you will know through the tour guide.

Finally, you will walk through Jimenez Avenue to visit an impressive collection of indigenous gold pieces at the Gold Museum. At the exit, you will have the chance to shop at the handicrafts market at Santander Park.

As an option, we can visit Monserrate Sanctuary, located within the imposing Eastern Hills of the city, at an altitude of 3150 meters above sea level. Ascending to the top of the mountain on a cable car, you will reach the most notorious pilgrimage point of the city and an incredible lookout spot in the capital below. This is a spot to grasp the historical and spatial context of the city.

Included

  • Private transportation from and to your hotel.
  • Expert guide in the language of your preference
  • Cable car ticket. (If you book the visit to Monserrate)
  • Tickets to visited attractions.

Not Included

  • Lunch

Important information

  • The order of the tour can be modified due to weather conditions and attraction closings. The Gold Museum is closed on Monday, however, we can change it for another museum according to group's interests.
  • The stop at Monserrate Sanctuary is optional and adds more time and an extra fee to the tour. You can include it during your booking in the section Add-ons. We suggest to avoid Sundays as waiting in line can take up to 2 hours each way.
  • Do you want to spend a whole day in Bogota to visit even more? Check out the Bogota Grand City Tour
  • On Sundays, it is not possible to start the tour at 2:00PM
  • We also have a Customizable City Tour (link to external minisite) available, with various options for the tour length, places to visit etc.

Museo del Oro / Monserrate / La Candelaria w/ Raúl
★★★★★

Raul did a wonderful job in not only showing but patiently explaining the history, politics, arts, culture of La Candelaria, Monserrate, Museo del Oro, etc, in the latter half of the day tour. Special appreciation for Raul’s patience to answer our numerous questions as we were filling in the few gaps from our prior knowledge!

Unforgettable Family Adventure: Exploring Colombia with Impulse Tours
★★★★★

We had a fantastic time in Colombia for 3 weeks. We have 3 kids ages 5-13 and all the activities/ trips we did were interesting for all ages. I feel we experienced a side of Colombia that would have been difficult to find on our own. Everything was very well organised and planned. The people we met along the way were nice, helpful and knowledgable (drivers/tour guides/ etc.). And all the accommodation and places we stayed were super. The Impulse team were at hand when we needed them and helpful when one of our children became ill. Thank you Felipe and team for everything - we had a once in a life time trip and will remember it forever!

So informative and fun!
★★★★★

Our guide Gigio was super communicative and informed. I am a little out of shape and he was so thoughtful with how he paced everything. My teens were so curious about Colombian history we all learned a lot from him and were able to really appreciate what we were experiencing both at monserrate and the gold museum. We were lucky enough to have him as a guide for the salt cathedral earlier in our trip. He was amazing and really contributed to the quality of our trip!

Private tour for my family finally in English
★★★★★

We were lucky enough to be alone with the guide Mauricio. He was the first guide who actually spoke English considering our other bookings in Colombia. There was prompt communication from Impulse the tour company. We took many photos indeed. Mauricio took great care of us, pointed out all points of interest, a vast knowledge of the local flora and fauna and navigated us both through history and affordable shops and cafes.
