Description

Our Grand City Tour is the most comprehensive way to see the relevant sights of the city in one day. You will be guided by a knowledgeable guide who will teach you about historical and current facts of Colombia.

The first stop is at Monserrate Sanctuary, located on the imposing eastern hills of the city at an altitude of 3150 MAMSL. Ascending to the top of the mountain on a cable car, you will reach the most notorious pilgrimage point of the city. After, you will walk through Jimenez Avenue to visit an impressive collection of indigenous gold pieces at the Gold Museum. At the exit, you will have the chance to shop at the handicrafts market at Santander Park.

Next, you will go to the historic neighborhood of La Candelaria and wander the picturesque cobbled streets that hold more than 400 years of history. You will visit the Botero Museum, which features works of the eccentric artist who has become an icon of Colombian contemporary art, Fernando Botero. You will have a stop at Chorro de Quevedo to appreciate the diverse contrasts that the historical center offers and learn more about Bogotá's history.

After a lunch break, you will reach Plaza de Bolívar; The main square of the city. The square is surrounded by administrative and governmental buildings that have been fundamental to the historical processes of the country that you will know through the tour guide.

Finally, you will go towards the north of the city to Usaquén having a panoramic view of the city. This neighborhood is famous for its handicrafts, restaurants, and traditional architecture. Here you will have the chance to buy some souvenirs and enjoy a great cup of coffee before returning to your hotel.

Cartagena's Wonders Unveiled
★★★★★

My family has toured with the always excellent Impulse Travel team in Bogotá several times so we contacted them for a trip to Cartagena. We enjoyed a terrific day with Oralys visiting the National Aviary and a walking tour of the Walled City. We asked her a million questions and she thoughtfully answered them sharing the complex history of her City. Impulse makes the travel logistics easy for a family with a young child too.

Great introduction to Bogota
★★★★★

Nice introduction to Bogota. Very knowledgeable tour guide and good driver. Marta was very personable and Andreas, the driver, was very skillful. I think this is a perfect tour when you have limited time in Bogota - or even just an introduction to get you comfortable with the city and its neighborhoods, culture and food.
