Description
Chocó is one of the most diverse regions in the world; a unique place in terms of biological and cultural diversity. It is recognized as one of the 25 prioritized areas in the world for nature preservation. With it’s frequent rains and dense tropical rain forests, this place is the habitat of numerous plant, reptile, bird, amphibious, and insect species. Moreover, it is home for whales and newborn whales who are prepared during approximately 4 months in calm waters before moving on to their long journeys throughout the oceans.
Itinerary
Day 1
Transfer to the hotel 40 min by car or tuk tuk. Check in, accommodation, lunch and free afternoon. You can explore the surroundings safely on your own on the ecological paths of the hotel and chase the sunset on the long black sand beaches of the Pacific.
Day 2
Early in the morning after breakfast, you take the boat to go out in search of the humpback whales, and enjoy the show they offer when they go to the surface with their 7-meter blows, backs, tails and playful calves. If you have not had contact with them, another departure will be rescheduled. This tour is organized with the other hotels guests.
Day 3
After breakfast, we will head to the hotel's Natural Reserve, immersing ourselves in the spectacular interior landscape of the humid jungle. This tour offers a unique experience to discover exclusive species that inhabit this corner of the world. As we explore the reserve, you will be amazed by the diversity of flora and fauna thriving in this pristine environment. The jungle reveals fascinating secrets as we venture along well-maintained trails, providing the opportunity to spot colorful birds, intriguing insects, and perhaps even endemic species.
Day 4
After getting to know and enjoying the paradise on earth in the Colombian Chocó region, we will leave more than renewed and "pacified" to continue the trip. Take advantage of the morning to wake up to the sound of nature and the waves of the sea, take a last breath in the rainforest, or take a dip in the large waves and dark sand of the Pacific Ocean. When your suitcase is ready, transportation will be waiting for you to take you to the Bahía Solano airport.

Important information
- Please note - Migrating whales pass through the Colombian Pacific in search of warmer waters to give birth to the calves from late June until late October, therefore this is the best time to see them, nonetheless this place is still worth a visit due to its enormous natural richness. Other activities can be arranged for you if your travel dates do not match this season.
- Starting time and date depend on flight schedules. This will be notified to you as soon as the flight is booked.
- You have the chance to extend the trip for one night more, please let us know.
- A yellow fever vaccine certificate may be required by authorities. We strongly recommend getting the shot.
