This experience is a real treat for music lovers. Colombia is one of the richest countries in Latin America in terms of musical rhythms, having a tremendous musical diversity comparable to Brazil or Cuba. On this tour, Gregorio Uribe will open you the doors to his house and his studio to have the marvelous opportunity to experience and learn about Colombian music. Gregorio will guide you through Colombian rich musical heritage as he plays a selection of songs of multiple genres and uses the piano and drums as a didactic tool for a more comprehensive approach to Colombian music.
Although schedules are flexible, we advise booking this tour at 5 PM.
How this tour creates an impact
Gregorio Uribe is a singer-songwriter and accordionist who has presented his music with the same passion and tenacity at Carnegie Hall and Madison Square Garden as in the patios of rural Colombia. He is also the co-creator or “Sounds of Colombia”, an award-winning music tourism experience in collaboration with Impulse Travel. On this tour, we give music the power to be the storyteller and to connect travelers that may not share the same language or background, but know that music easily breaks any kind of barrier.
This tour is part of our HEART experiences.

Felipe at Impulse Travel put together a wonderful, 10-day trip for us, providing a great introduction to the country’s geography, culture, and ongoing social transition. I can’t say enough about Impulse’s guides, whose personalities really made our trip. They took us to their favorite cafes, hiked with us, bought us exotic fruits to try, and quickly picked up on our interests, accompanying us to coffee distributors and a Medellin bike shop owned by the beloved Colombian cyclist Rigobertu Uran. (Go, Rigo, go!)
While add-on excursions can sometimes feel canned, Impulse’s special activities did not – our coffee-plantation tour, bike riding on Bogota’s traffic-free main streets on Sunday, and visiting with Colombian musicians included spontaneous moments and authentic conversation. Hotel choices were excellent, and travel logistics were seamless (several domestic flights via Avianca, airport pickups, and drivers). Thanks for the work you did, Felipe. We’d love to go back to Colombia, and we’ll turn to Impulse Travel again when we do.
