Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 - Güejar River Canyon Rafting

The Rio Güejar originates in the Páramo de Sumapaz (PNN), passing through the municipality of Lejanías, where it forms the Piscinas del Río Güejar. It then flows through Mesetas and San Juan de Arama, creating the majestic Cañón del Río Güejar, and continues through Vistahermosa and Puerto Rico Meta, eventually merging with the Río Ariari. The canyon features some of the planet's oldest rock formations, part of the Guiana Shield, which stretches from Venezuela through Colombia's Serranía de La Macarena to Ecuador and Brazil. This stunning canyon is a key part of the Área de Manejo Especial de la Macarena.

On this rafting adventure through the Güejar River Canyon, you'll marvel at the area's rich natural beauty, including its diverse flora and fauna. The journey offers breathtaking views of towering waterfalls, a wide variety of colorful birds and butterflies, and ancient, gigantic rocks. This experience is a true immersion into magical realism, making it unforgettable.

Your journey begins with a warm welcome, breakfast, and visitor registration. You will then transfer to the embarkation point "El Limón" for a technical briefing before starting the rafting activity. The 17-kilometer river journey includes stops at scenic spots such as the "Titanic," where you'll enjoy a regional snack, participate in activities like floating in life jackets, bird watching, and visiting various waterfalls. You'll pass through the enchanting Valley of the Fairies, where you can see water droplets falling in slow motion. After navigating the canyon's rapids, you'll arrive at the eco-touristic farm La Recebera for lunch.

After the rafting adventure, you'll return to Mesetas Meta for accommodation and dinner, concluding your thrilling day in the Güejar River Canyon.

Day 2 - Arenales Hiking and Recreational Bath

Arenales is a hidden gem, a magnificent waterfall long concealed due to the region's conflict. This stunning natural attraction now welcomes visitors who seek to preserve its pristine environment, appreciate nature's beauty, and engage in wellness tourism that supports local communities involved in the tourism value chain.

To reach this breathtaking site, you'll embark on a hike through secondary forest trails, where you'll encounter towering trees and a rich diversity of flora. The trail is moderately challenging, rated between 3 and 4 on a scale of 1 to 5, with a slight incline. The hike typically takes around 1.5 hours, depending on your physical condition. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by a white sandy beach that complements the waterfall, creating an oasis in the heart of nature. The waterfall itself boasts a 60-meter drop, with an extensive area for recreational swimming and caves nestled in the rocky formation, adding to the scenic beauty.

Your day begins with breakfast before transferring to the Arenales waterfall. After the hike, you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the waterfall's pool and explore the surrounding area. Following this invigorating experience, you'll have lunch and then return for accommodation and dinner, rounding off a day immersed in the natural splendor of Arenales.

Day 3 - Cafre Canyon Tubing Adventure

Embark on an exhilarating tubing adventure on the stunning Rio Cafre, where you'll experience the thrill of navigating through seven rapids that will leave you feeling energized and invigorated. The emerald-green waters, surrounded by immense rocks and lush vegetation, make the canyon an extraordinary place to explore.

One of the highlights of this adventure is the Enchanted Waterfall, which features a 30-meter drop, surrounded by vegetation-covered rocks and a vast natural pool perfect for recreational swimming and photography. The waterfall's name comes from local legends of a mohán, or mythical creature, that once inhabited the area, giving the place its mysterious and enchanting reputation. These remarkable sites are accessible only during the summer season.

Our commitment to preserving these beautiful locations means we strive to minimize our environmental impact during tours and involve the local community in our value chain. The day begins with breakfast, followed by a hike and a refreshing swim at the Enchanted Waterfall. After lunch, you'll continue with a thrilling tubing experience through the Cafre River Canyon, making for an unforgettable day immersed in nature's wonders.
