Visit a small coffee farm right in Medellín's metropolitan area, where coffee beans are harvested and roasted to obtain a premium quality product and set all the international standards. Enjoy this fantastic tour while you learn about the coffee industry in just a few hours within Medellín.
You will be picked up at your hotel to take you to San Antonio de Prado in a less than an hour south through Medellín's metropolitan area. When you arrive, you will start by walking through the coffee crops and learning about the seeds, and the coffee plants. You will learn to identify the perfect coffee beans, the plants' production cycles, as well as the most significant problems of farming these plants. After walking through the crops, you will move to the next stages to see how coffee is prepared, classified and dried before being roasted. After, you will learn from a Master Coffee Roaster why this is a crucial step in coffee making. Through this process, you will understand the importance of the master roaster’s and the coffee farmer’s work to achieve the best flavor and quality.
You will leave the farm and move north towards El Poblado to Urbania Coffee Shop where you will taste the coffee produced on the farm you just visited. Finally, you will return to your hotel.
