During this tour through the Colombian Silk Road you will visit the AgroArte farm, a project led by young women who have reinforced the work of 30 years of research and implementation of this productive activity in a region that had never thought of this initiative and that was introduced by the South Korean and Japanese cooperation as an alternative to traditional coffee crops that were already common throughout the country.

Today you are going to see one of the most beautiful and rare projects that can be found in Colombia that argues in capital letters that Colombia has an incredible natural wealth and that many things are possible by learning about the world of silk. It is a natural fiber of the highest quality formed by proteins and produced by silkworms or silk moths that weave their cocoons and go through a metamorphosis inside them wrapping themselves in small silk balls that are the main raw material for the elaboration of the beautiful garments and textiles recognized worldwide.
This tradition dates back almost 3000 thousand years before Christ in ancient China and was one of the best kept secrets of the empire for thousands of years to preserve the mono production and the enormous wealth that this product generated for the Chinese Empire that extended its trade routes throughout Asia, the Middle East, Europe and North Africa on the famous Silk Road for more than 1500 years and 6437 km (4000 miles).
You will pedal through the mountains of the region understanding the great diversity of products that are born from these lands and you will know first hand the artisanal process and with organic certification of one of the most incredible and important products that the world has had throughout its history, the silk.
