The adventure kicks off in El Tambo’s main square, where you’ll hop on your bike and start pedaling toward Popayán. The first stretch (6.5 km) is a mix of gentle climbs and smooth descents on a paved road, easing you into the ride. A quick turn leads you to the rural path (1.4 km) that takes you to Agroarte, a community-driven silk farm where tradition meets innovation. At Agroarte, you'll witness the entire organic silk-making process from raising silkworms and spinning the threads to weaving and dyeing fabrics using natural colors. For over 30 years, a dedicated group of women has kept this craft alive, mastering the art of creating 96 stunning silk shades, including a groundbreaking coca leaf-dyed textile. Whether you're into cycling, textiles, or sustainability, this stop is a must. Back on the bike, the route continues to Curva del Peligro viewpoint, where you'll take in sweeping views of Pan de Azúcar mountain and the vast Patía Valley. From there, you’ll descend along a paved road (7.9 km) and transition onto a rural path leading to Finca Ebenezer (11.4 km)—an agro-tourism farm offering a well-deserved break. Here, you’ll enjoy a delicious local lunch and unwind in a hammock surrounded by lush forest. The final stretch takes you back to El Tambo, completing a moderate-level ride with rolling ascents and descents that challenge and reward in equal measure.
