"This walking tour will let you see the best sights of Cartagena with our English guide including Plaza del Comercio, Plaza de Bolivar, Cartagena Cathedral, Gold Museum, Old City, and more."
Our Cartagena Walking Tour is designed for those who believe that the best way to discover a city is by foot. Get to know the beautiful walled city of Cartagena and get lost within its cobblestone streets. You will even walk through the walls and its bastions, where you will discover some of the most important historical buildings. You’ll be able to absorb as much information and history as possible at your own pace. We assure you the best possible experience, because with Day Trips Cartagena you will get to know the city from inside out thanks to our local tour guides.
Begin this journey at the imposing and beautiful clock tower, La Torre del Reloj, the spectacular entrance to the old city of Cartagena. This is the gateway to La Plaza del Comercio, where slave trading used to take place. Beautiful old buildings with colonial balconies surround the plaza. The tour continues through the cobblestone streets to our next destination, La Plaza de Bolivar. This site was used for several activities in colonial times, thus its changing names throughout history like Inquisition plaza and Cathedral plaza. Afterwards, we will enter the Cartagena Cathedral, which is one of the oldest in America, and continue to the place that safeguards a stunning collection of gold and ceramics from the main pre-Columbian cultures, the Gold Museum.
Conclude the trip by walking to the walls that surround the beautiful Old City. Enjoy the striking architecture and amazing views while walking through this wonderful city.
The order of tour activities may be modified by climatic factors. The Gold Museum is closed on Monday; we can change it for another museum according to group's interest. If there is any other place of interest you want to include in the tour, please let us know in advance and we will be glad to include it.
Changes on the tour may occur due to external factors. These changes will be notified to you with anticipation.
