The best way of knowing Colombian coffee is tasting! Join this tour and visit various coffee shops in Medellin and taste their specialties while you learn from experienced baristas about different preparation methods and coffee types.
We will start by picking you up at your hotel to take you to Laureles neighborhood, an artsy and green area famous for its numerous parks, restaurants, design stores, and enormous trees. To start low on caffeine, our first stop is tasting a delicious tropical coconut frappuccino on a Mediterranean ambient coffee shop that also offers Turkish preparation methods. If you're not into frappuccinos Turkish coffee is recommended, but it's obviously not a local choice.
We will continue walking through the neighborhood and stop at a coffee shop recognized for its Aeropress preparation method and for working hand in hand with coffee farmers from La Sierra, a peripheral neighborhood of Medellin's Comuna 8. At this place, you will be able to ask about the roasting process and the importance of the social project they are leading. Our next stop will be at a place that makes espressos their specialty. According to them, the best way to taste a coffee's quality is in a freshly-made espresso.
Finally, we will stop at a coffee shop / independent designer store to enjoy a delicious cold brew, a 12-hour brewing process that highlights coffee's flavor while producing a cold refreshing beverage. However, you can also try their refreshing home-made ginger or watermelon soda instead of the cold brew. After, we will drive you back to your hotel.
Changes on the tour may occur due to external factors. These changes will be notified to you with anticipation.
